Yoga during pregnancy

Pregnancy Yoga or Prenatal Yoga is a fantastic way to prepare your body and mind for birth and motherhood.


Antenatal (Prenatal) Yoga involves of a series of exercises that will help your body cope with the huge changes going on and prepare for the birth of your baby. It is recommended to start any time after 12 weeks of pregnancy.



• Pregnancy Yoga helps you learn to relax. Relaxation techniques can help you to cope not only with pregnancy but also labour/birth and the stresses of motherhood.

• Prenatal Yoga postures can help loosen tight muscles and joints, allowing you the freedom to adopt what ever positions you like in labour. These exercise will help you maintain and even improve your flexibility.

• It is really important to keep up with regular exercise during pregnancy. Pregnancy yoga helps you as it is low/no impact and so it is gentle on your ever changing body throughout pregnancy.

• Prenatal yoga helps to stretch and strengthen your body and can help with some of the common pregnancy ailments such as a sore lower back, nausea, headaches, shortness of breath, etc.

It can also help to reduce stress and anxiety and helps to improve sleep. Now who wouldn’t like that??

Due to Covid-19 restrictions at present, it is most likely that Yoga classes are held online. This just means that you can do Yoga in your Jammies!!
