My name is Aleanbh Cox. I am a registered midwife, but above all, I am a mother to two beautiful little girls. I studied midwifery in Trinity College Dublin and trained in the Coombe Women's and Infants University Hospital, Dublin. In addition, I have completed training and obtained diplomas in Hypnobirthing, Antenatal Yoga and Baby Massage. Also, I am proud to say that I am the first in Ireland to be a certified Spinning Babies® Parent Educator!
I have always been interested in the miracle of childbirth and the inner strength that women possess, sometimes unknowingly. As a midwife I have seen the strength that women (and their partners) have. As a mother to 2 beautiful girls, I have experienced this inner strength first hand. And let me tell you... it is amazing!
I have worked as a 'second midwife', attending and assisting with homebirths provided by the Self-employed midwives of the HSE in the Dublin area. I am also a volunteer with AIMS Ireland and help women in their recovery during the postnatal journey. Sometimes women have questions about their birth or need clarification on their maternity notes. I help them to better understand the events during their birth in the hospital.
As founder of BirthFIT Ireland, I provide a wide range of workshops and classes to expecting couples and new parents which will better prepare you mentally and physically for the pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. The class aims to prepare new parents to care for their new baby with confidence. We will cover everything from skin-to-skin in the first hour after birth to CPR/Heimlich manoeuvre for babies and toddlers
I am proud to announce that Ireland has its very first Spinning Babies Parent class! Help your baby get into the best position for birth. In this class, you will learn techniques and daily exercises to help make more room for the baby. In return, birth will be easier and smoother.
