About Me

My name is Aleanbh Cox. I have always been interested in the miracle of childbirth and the inner strength that women possess, sometimes unknowingly. As a midwife for over a decade, I have seen the amazing strength that women have. But I have also seen how birth can be for those who go into labour in a state of fear, worry or even unprepared.

For the last several years I have worked as a homebirth midwife in Ireland, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care. My aim in setting up a private clinic, is to extend my midwifery services beyond a homebirth setting. Not all women who want midwifery-led care want a homebirth too. So, you DO NOT need to be planning a homebirth to come and see me! You may choose to attend for one appointment, or several. You may be low-risk or high risk.

My aim is to empower you by providing evidence based care and information so that you can make informed decisions about your care.

I am a registered and practising midwife, but above all, I am a mother to two beautiful little girls. As a mother, I have experienced 2 completely different births: One an Emergency C/S and the other a beautiful (almost) homebirth. And I put the beautiful & calm (almost) homebirth down to my antenatal care, my preparation, Hypnobirthing & Spinning Babies techniques.

I studied midwifery in Trinity College Dublin and trained in the Coombe Women's and Infants University Hospital, Dublin.  In addition, I have completed training and obtained diplomas in Hypnobirthing, Antenatal Yoga, Baby Massage and will qualify as a tongue tie practitioner soon! Also, I am proud to say that I am the first in Ireland to be a certified Spinning Babies® Parent Educator!

I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my job. Whether it be antenatal appointment, attending a birth, or visiting a new mother for a postnatal check and helping with baby care or feeding queries. I am lucky to say that I have found a job that I skip in to :)
